"HUMMER BUMMER!"

Just recently gas prices have skyrocketed and that therefore, leaves many people unhappy with the money that they have to invest in gas just to get around. In early 2006, many people loved the new big body HUMMERs and trucks because they looked cool and was fun to drive. But now many are looking away from the bigger vehicles like Hummers and looking more towards more economical choices that are better.
This therefore, leaves General Motors in a bad position because not only are they losing money because these vehicles are not being sold like they use to, its now starting to become more of a liability than bringing in great revenue. So now there is a great big discussion about GM possibly wanting to get out of the Hummer business.

This definitely affects Advertising in a huge way because, now the advertisers for Hummer has to be very careful and clever as to how they will sale this vehicle so that their company does not lose much of their market shares. In return, makes the job a lot easier for Advertisers that are promoting more full efficient vehicles like Hondas, Hyundais, and Ford Focuses. Moreover, this now put advertising and marketing to the front of their to do list and for others it will be a piece of cake to sale a competing brand against GM. Especially if they do not produce a more fuel-efficient vehicle or gas prices continue to increase.
